Longer Term Projects
The following projects can not be realized without involving external aid organizations on national or higher level.
schools
secondary school project
A larger project for enhancing the Bu Yung School, the only secondary school in the commune, is in the definition phase. The school was originally built by the government with money from the Korean Bu Yung Company, which built more schools in Cambodia. For unclear reasons the school was never finished, officially Bu Yung stopped the project because of a lack of money. The buildings have no lockable windows, no doors. Only a few class rooms have a concrete floor in which the teaching furniture has been borowed from other schools.
It is clear that this school plays a central role in the future possibilities of the present youth. For us it has the highest priority to finish the school buildings and fence, build toilets and wells and supply decent furniture and blackboards.Improving and extending existing schools, building new schools
health
shortlist of what we have in mind:
medical assistance and short projects by volunteering foreign medical doctors and dentists
ambulance, medical transport
small scale medical insurance system, coordinated with nearest hospitals
professional activities
shortlist of possibilities
vocational training (sewing, building/construction, bakery/pastry, small company management)
agricultural corporation, buying land from lend money, set up irrigation system
other non agricultural commercial activities: bike, water well/pump repare and maintenance
